Future Bakery and Cafe, more often referred to as "Future's" is the student hangout in the Annex. It is often the designated meet up spot for folks who haven't decided where they want to go, as it is located right in the middle of the busiest part of the Annex. It's also a popular dessert place with cake and pie going for about $5 per slice.

The service is slow enough to spend the whole day reading, marking and running into classmates without getting harassed by staff and without having to spending too much. They have a big heated patio. Breakfast is half priced for UofT students with ID. The mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy is a staple for the cheap but hungry.

There used to be other Future Bakery's in Toronto but they are no more. Future Bakery and Cafe used to be more of a bakery, you used to be able to buy a loaf of bread from this place, but you can't any more. Not sure if the original owners are still connected to this restaurant, but they are still baking bread in Toronto see Future Bakery Ltd..
