At the announcement of the Curfew, Gov. Jay Nixon announced there would be a "Media Staging Area" from which to cover events. You might see this being referred to as the reporter cage.
Putting reporters in a cage is part of the media blackout that officials are trying to create in Ferguson.
Police from the Missouri Highway Patrol are reportedly blocking off space around the Ferguson Market and Liquor store for the media.
"Instead of putting the police in front of the thing protesters want to burn down, they put the press," OH-tweeted Byron Tau.
During protests the evening of 08/18, police were threatening reporters and making them stay in the media area. Twitter, livestreamers, Vice media (for a time), and a few more (?) were the only sources of info from outside the cage.
