Sandra K. Karsten was named Director of the Missouri Department of Public Safety by Michael L. Parson on Aug. 27, 2018 and assumed the post effective Sept 1, 2018. She was confirmed by the Missouri Senate on Sept. 14.
She is the first female to take the Director’s post in the state’s history.
