The single entrance to this business faced the town clock. When you walked in, there were three counters forming a "U" shape; one to the left, one in the middle and one on the right. Behind the middle counter, against the wall, was their very loud bread slicing machine. They'd place the loaf and about 10 seconds later, it'd be cut and ready to go. Andrew Lenz Jr. recalls, "As a small child in the early 1970s, my mom would take me in there. That slicing machine scared the heck out of me. But the place smelled amazing and their bread was mouth-watering. I was very disappointed when it closed."
