The full name of the bank was Pajaro Valley Bank National Association. It was not the same Pajaro Valley Bank that started in Watsonville in 1888. This Pajaro Valley Bank was started May 6, 1983. Pajaro Valley Bank was bought by First National Bank of Central California in 1991.

Pajaro Valley Bank (1888-1961)

The original Pajaro Valley Bank started in 1888. John Porter and John Trafton were two of the original investors. The original branch was on the corner of Peck Street and Main Street in Watsonville.  In 1939, a newer building was built in the same location. Another branch was built on the corner of Freedom Blvd. and Clifford Street. In March of 1961, Wells Fargo Bank acquired the two branches of Pajaro Valley Bank. (Main branch was on the corner of Peck Street and Main Street.) Aside from similar names, the first Pajaro Valley Bank had no connection to the later Pajaro Valley Bank.
