The Dial-a-Ride service is a late night, dial-up ride service with limited coverage from UCSC to downtown and westside locations. It is run in cahoots with the UCSC Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS), helping to ensure that students have a way to get around during the wee hours of the night, but anyone can use the service. The service operates only in the late night hours (after 12am) after most bus routes have stopped running for the night. The service picks-up and drops-off individuals to and from locations between Natural Bridges / Western Drive (on the West), the San Lorenzo River (on the East), the Pacific Coast (on the South) and UCSC Upper Campus (on the North). The service only serves areas not covered by the 19 and 16 routes, since those routes run during these times on a fixed schedule anyway.

The service is particularly useful for those who, how shall we say, find themselves all drunk up with somewhere to go, but with no way to get there. Don't drink and drive, kids!

Fare:

UCSC student, faculty, and staff: present student ID card or bus pass.

Others: $1.50.
