Pike usually residing at the Town of Derby in the State of Vermont, one of the United States of America as general partners and William Spalding residing usually at the City of Boston in the State of Massachusetts on of the said United States of America as special partner. The said William Spalding having contributed fifteen hundred dollars ($1500) to the capital stock of the said partnership, which said copartnership commences on the First day of September [1871] and terminates at the expiration of five years thereafter ».
