Robert E. Craig (1824-1837) is the earliest recorded death at Powhatan (if current evidence is correct and the town wasn't founded before 1837). His father, Judge Larkin Craig, was married to John S. Ficklin's sister, Francis. The death was erroneously reported as occurring in Pocahontas. The location of the grave is unknown.
