The fire station was funded by a 1959 bond and was dedicated on September 27, 1961 by John C Houlihan, Mayor, City Councilmembers Glenn Hoover, Fred Maggiora, Dan Marovich, Robert McKeen, Robert Osborne, John Reading and Howard Rilea, Vice Mayor Felix Chialvo, Wayne Thompson, City Manager, Martin Huff, Auditor-Controller, James Sweeney, Jr, Fire Chief, as well as the architecture firm, the Fire and Safety Citizens Committee chairman and two other people.
