Although his history is in civil rights, John Burris is a lawyer who now specializes almost entirely in high profile police misconduct cases.

 

His clients include the plaintiffs in the Riders case which led to the negotiated settlement agreement, Rodney King (although that led to troubles), Tupac, Torry Smith, Barry Bonds, Chau Van, Frenswa Raynor (the boy shot on April 4th), Jose Luis Buenrostro, the family of Oscar Grant, the family of Alan Blueford, the health claims from the Richmond Chevron refinery fire in August, 2012,
