4. Oakland Color Haunt

Oakland Color Haunt is a unique paint race that celebrates Halloween & Health. Oakland Color Haunt is a three-mile, timed race where participants are targeted by Ghouls, Ghosts & Goblins who douse them in color at any stage. Haunt participants enter the maze, identify & blast their ghoulish targets with color. Armed with colors traveling at top speed the race is more about having the time of your life, than exercise.

8. Annual Harvest Festival and Silent Auction

9. 2nd Annual Hella-ween 5 Miler

Old Oakland, Ninth Street near Washington. The 5-miler is designed to be fun and let people show off their creative side as costumes are encouraged. The out-and-back course is on the streets of Old Oakland, Jack London Square and Uptown. The course will feature two water stops and possibly a “special” stop at Linden St. Brewery. 10. Kids’ Halloween Dance Party

19. FM Smith Haunted House

20. Spooky Stories for Kids: Sean's Shadow Puppets: Oakland Public Libraries, various dates and branches
Sean Powers is bringing his art of shadow puppetry to Oakland Public Libraries during the week before Halloween. He will perform "Fool Me Once," a scary Chinese tale about deception and its folly. Afterwards
he will spend time showing his puppets and answering questions about how he does his art. Sean will appear at five library locations:

Oakland School for the Arts present "Mad Science", the spookiest underground science lab, gone really wrong. Come and see if you can handle the tension, conquer your fear, and brave the mutants. 26. Montclair Annual Halloween Parade,
Thursday, October 31, 3pm, meet in front of Bank Of America.
The Montclair Lions Club and the Montclair Village Association invite you to show off your costumes in the annual parade through the Village. Visit with Montclair Pet Mayor, Stomper, hosted by Montclair Veterinary Hospital, and see fabulous costumes worn by children of all ages. The parade concludes with trick-or-treating in Montclair Park.
