Alexei Vladimir "Alex" Filippenko (born July 25, 1958) is an astrophysicist and professor of astronomy at the University of California, Berkeley.
Supporter of the Chabot Space and Science Center. UC Berkeley students have voted him nine times as their "Best Professor" on campus. [ He's a pretty amazing speaker to listen to, so I can believe it. ]
