What do you know about US life expectancy declines again?

In 2014 the life expectancy in the US was at 78.9 years and decreased to 78.7 by 2016. In 2017 it decreased again to 78.6. Seeing the life expectancy decline is very bad and has not happened since World War I. One thing that has been contributing to this problem rapidly is the growing number of suicides in the US. Suicide rates in rural counties are double than urban ones, and residents who own firearms are at higher risk. Places like West Virginia have a serious problem with this, especially with 60% of homes owning a gun. I chose this topic as a part of this course because we have learned a lot about how rural places are more at risk for suffering from depression and suicides. I also chose this because of my interest sparked from one of the podcasts we listened to about the life expectancy declining  and how many people do not realize how big of a problem this is. This is a pain scale of 10 because of how rapidly suicides are growing in the US. #GEOG203 #pyscho more of this information can be found at https://www.msudenver.edu/media/content/healthinstitute/documents/U.S.lifeexpectancydeclinesagain,adismaltrendnotseensinceWorldWarI-TheWashingtonPost(1).pdf
