Miss Linda Cleland [sometimes spelled Clelland] was the head of nursing at the New York State Hospital for Incipient Tuberculosis in Ray Brook from February 17, 19081 until December 1945. She lived on St. Bernard Street after retiring, and later moved around the corner to 9 Church Street2. She was replaced in her position by Mrs. Marguerite Sweeney.

[reprinted] Guild News Gleanings - Home Town Jottings Dec. '45 — Mrs. Marguerite Sweeney of the nursing staff at Ray Brook has been appointed director of the nurses at the institution to replace Miss Linda Clelland who has served in this capacity for the past 37 years.

MISS LINDA CLELAND

SARANAC LAKE — Miss Linda Cleland, 87, of Saranac Lake died at St. Margaret's Nursing Home, Sanatorium Gabriels Sunday morning after a long illness. Miss Cleland was a native of Pennsylvania and had been a nurse at Ray Brook State Hospital here for many years. The Fortune Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
