Arthur John Niederbuhl was a World War I veteran. His son Arthur F. Niederbuhl's obituary states that his family moved to Saranac Lake, where his father (this Arthur) cured from Tuberculosis (was a TB patient.)  In 1948, he lived at 17 Forest Hill Avenue.

Arthur Niederbuhl

SARANAC LAKE - Arthur Niederbuhl, 78, of 6 Brookside Ave., Plymouth, Mass., and a former resident here, died Thursday morning in Plymouth.

Mr. Niederbuhl was born in Brooklyn, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Niederbuhl.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lorraine Peck of Plymouth.

His first wife, Clara, died in 1954.

Also surviving are a son, Arthur of Bloomingdale; a sister, Elizabeth Seegar of Lindenhurst; two nieces, Betty McGraw and Amelia Lang, and six grandchildren, He was a resident of Plymouth for 10 years and a resident of Saranac Lake for 40 years. He was chief buyer for Grand Union food stores until his retirement in 1927 due to illness.

Mr. Niederbuhl was a member of the Last Man's Club in Saranac Lake and a Navy veteran of World War I.

Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home 7 to 9 p.m. today and a Bible vigil is scheduled for 8 p.m. today.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard's Church.

Interment will be in St, Bernard's Cemetery in May.
