History

Heavenly Buffalos was opened by Dain Phlean, Mark Dundas and their wives in 2014.  Phlean-Dundas spent nearly a year of testing the duo unveiled their wings and sauces. The restaurants first location was in Durham, NC. Four years later a second location was open on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill, NC. The most recent location is open in downtown Greensboro. The motto of the restaurant is ‘The Wing Joint You’ve Been Looking For!’ which is what Phlean-Dundas hope to accomplish through their award winning wings.

Food

Heavenly Buffalos prides themselves on their local, farm-raised, steroid and antibiotic-free chicken wings and locally produced vegan soy nuggets with 28 wet and dry sauces on their menu. Their catalog of sauces and dry rubs are all made in store because Phlean-Dundas wanted them to be unique to Heavenly Buffalos. If you are not in the mood for wings their sauces and rubs can come on thighs, salads, fried chicken sandwich and fries.

Recognitions

Heavenly Buffalos has won the Indy Week's Best of the Triangle Award for Best Wings in Durham County from 2015-2022, and the winners of the Best Wings in Orange/Chatham County in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Also, Heavenly Buffalos took the crown in The News & Observer’s bracket to determine the best wings in the Triangle.
