The Library of the Health Sciences in Urbana (also referred to as LHSU) provides library services to the staff, students, and faculty of UIC schools of medicine and nursing. The general public is always welcome to utilize the study spaces, public computers, and the resources available for check out by a courtesy borrower. We provide Open Reserve medical and nursing textbooks available for 1 day check out, exam review books available for 1 week check out, and general books which can be checked out for 4 weeks at a time. Also available at LHSU are plastic anatomical models, DVD's, course syllabuses from previous semesters, and other resources.

LHSU provides access to databases, lib guides, research guides, and other online resources that users may find useful in the pursuit of medical information.

The second floor of LHSU is currently undergoing a small weeding task, that is, removing old books, journals, and the accompanying shelving, which are no longer used for education purposes, as the majority of material they provide is now accessible online.

This page is still incomplete. Please add whatever content you think we're missing! If you're not sure where to begin, http://local.google.com is sometimes a good and easy place to find times/phone. Better yet, look them up in the phone book, and ask an LHSU representative.
