(Malheur Maar)

Diamond Craters is located in southeastern Oregon, roughly forty miles southeast of Burns. This small shield volcano, or volcanic field, offers cinder cones, maars, and basaltic lava flows, to any willing to travel. Both Diamond Craters and the Diamond post office are named after the Diamond Ranch. The ranch used a diamond shaped brand, thus the name.[1]
