Overview
Quoted from the 1961 Attica Torch, ""Coach, when do we get out bibles?" Does this seem a strange question to be asking of a Physical Education teacher? It isn't really, for it is another prospective football star showing a real interest in his sport, and an eagerness to get going at it. The football bible is a manual of all the different plays, offensive or defensive, that can be made by a team. One of the first requirements of a player is that he know these plays and their connected numbers backward and forward. He can't have the manual of the field with him, and if he doesn't really know the play by number, he may go for a hand-off when he should have been receiving a pass.
So when you hear similar questions or remarks, you will know that the Blue Devil grid iron squad is ready to go."
