John Kapp (b. July 31, 1841, Northfield Township; d. Jan 17, 1911, Los Angeles CA) was mayor of Ann Arbor from 1880-1883 and from 1885 to 1886. He graduated from the University of Michigan Department of Medicine and Surgery in 1868, and practiced medicine until 1907. He moved to Los Angeles when his health failed.

Kapp was a member of Golden Rule Lodge No. 159, F & A M, the Washtenaw No. 6 R. A. M., and the Ann Arbor Commandery No. 13 K T. His funeral at his old home on Main St. in Ann Arbor was conducted by his Masonic brethren.
