Howard Terminal (the Charles P. Howard Terminal) is part of the Port of Oakland. It is named for Charles Prescott Howard, son of Western Fuel Company president, John L. Howard. The area originally belonged to his company, the Howard Company, before it was purchased by Western Fuel. The area belonged to the company until the Port of Oakland purchased it in 1978.

Many Oaklanders first learned of the name when it was proposed a potential site for a new baseball stadium for the Oakland A's.
