Boone, North Carolina is a town in Watauga County. Boone is located on top of the Appalachian Mountains. The town was incorporated in 1872. Currently, 18,280 citizens live there. 

Boone has the highest elevation at 3,300 feet of any town of its size east of the Mississippi River. The weather varies by season, reaching around 76 degrees in the summer and snowing in the winter. This allows residents and visitors to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor activities during all seasons. According to travel journalists, Boone is an "ultimate outdoor adventure destination."
